And… we’re back
It’s been a hot minute since I last graced this blog with my ramblings — no, I didn't get abducted by aliens.
Time keeps marching on, bringing its ever-complicated adventures. It seems life starts off pretty simple and, as we age, it gains layers of complexity... Cue the inevitable mid-life crisis to reframe those simplicities once again. (Stay tuned for a future post titled “How to have a mid-life crisis”).
So, here’s another blog post. I’ve been journaling sporadically, but not posting. Why not, you ask? The answer lies in two parts.
First, this blog was meant to be a creative outlet for sharing interesting thoughts. Life’s emotional rollercoaster of the last while meant my journaling became more private. I’m not one for airing deeply personal experiences online. Those are saved for my journal and heartfelt conversations with close friends and family.
Secondly, if I’m being honest, I’ve been lazy and procrastinating. Instead of being creative, my time has been eroded away by doom scrolling social media and binge-watching YouTube to distract myself from life's challenges.
So why start up again? I've noticed a pattern of starting things and not following through. I want to be more productive, creative, and consistent. Writing orders my thoughts and lays the groundwork for action. So, here I am, fingers on the keyboard.* (Side note, it’s always pen to paper first. There’s something therapeutic about words forming on actual paper. Then, they’re transcribed to the computer where I attempt to correct my terrible grammar and spelling).
Moving forward, this blog will have two streams. One for random thoughts like previous posts, and another tracking my personal development and evolving career, tagged “Work in Progress”.
I don’t need an audience for this blog… the framework and discipline it provides are what matter to me. It’s a catalyst for personal growth, development and a better understanding on my thoughts on things.
That been said, if you read the blog and found it at all interesting, cool :)
